The Obama family sends out a massive amount of Christmas cards every year, according to Michelle Obama
The former first lady said her holiday mailing list includes "friends, family, business people [and] foundation people"
Michelle also spoke about husband Barack's gift-giving habits on the Dec. 15 episode of Jimmy Kimmel Live!
Christmas cards are a big deal in the Obama family.
Michelle Obama revealed that she and husband Barack Obama send out a massive amount of holiday greeting cards to family, friends and associates every single year.
Michelle made the revelation while appearing as a guest on the Dec. 15 episode of Jimmy Kimmel Live! When Jimmy Kimmel asked the former first lady, "How many cards do the Obamas send out for Christmas?" Michelle replied, "You know, we checked. It's over 100,000."
As the answer drew a shocked response from Kimmel, 58, and his in-studio audience, Michelle clarified, "But that incorporates friends, family, business people [and] foundation people, so it's a lot of folks that we want to thank."

The Obamas — Michelle and Barack, 64, and their two daughters: Malia, 27, and Sasha, 24 — mark the Christmas holiday annually with sentimental posts shared on social media.
Last year, Barack posted a family photo on Instagram, while Michelle shared an image of their family dog, Sunny.

Around the same time that the Obamas send out holiday greetings, Barack also formulates his year-end lists, highlighting his favorites across movies, television, music and books.
Some of the things that captured the former president's attention in 2024 included songs by Beyoncé, Kendrick Lamar and Billie Eilish, as well as films such as Conclave, Anora and Dune: Part Two.

Michelle also revealed during her Jimmy Kimmel Live! appearance that she is the mastermind behind the Obama family's gift-giving at Christmas.
"Everybody gets a gift, [but] I'm generally the one who is orchestrating it," she said.
When Kimmel asked specifically if Barack gets good gifts, Michelle responded, "He does." And when the late-night host followed up by asking if Barack "has a consultant" he uses for the gift-giving, the mom of two replied, "Meredith Koop, my stylist."
"You know, he tried for a few years, early on in our lives, and I would open it up like, 'Oh yeah, you tried,' " she added with a laugh.
